The card
What is in one.
The map
Every card that has a place carries the map somebody drew at the time. This one has Hungary as it was engraved in 1567, while the Turks held Buda. You can open it, move around it, and find the place. It is not an illustration. It is the document.
The page
Every line can be traced to the page it was printed on, and the card shows you that page. The original is shown as printed, not tidied up.
The people
A proverb reaches us because somebody sat down with somebody else and wrote. The card names them, including the ones later editions leave out. Where a collector guessed, the card says so.
